Collingham Old Food Store

Our long-standing client Lincolnshire Co-op had a business case to re-develop the existing food store due to them being relocated to a new building on the same site. The scheme was to split the existing unit into three units to let to tenants with smaller businesses rather than sell the building where a competitor could lease and then provide competition to Lincolnshire Co-op for the food business. This was issued out for closed tender and Belvin were awarded the contract to complete the works.
Works consisted of soft landscaping removal around the building, demolition of the existing facility internal spaces and partitioning to create a division of units. This was to create three spaces for retail as per the design.
Tasks completed were demolition, Groundworks, drainage, Tarmac, Asbestos above and below ground, Brick and blockwork, Joinery, Roofing, Steelwork, Cladding, External Doors, Roller Doors, Windows, M&E, Air-Conditioning, IT services, Boarding and Skimming, Suspended ceilings, Decorations, Flooring and new electrical services to each unit for metering.
This development was completed on a busy retail space in Collingham therefore just in time deliveries were maintained to reduce congestion to the public and neighbors.
We also had to keep the existing food store fully operational through the scheme therefore a close working relationship between Belvin and the food store plus other local businesses was developed to maintain the operations and cause minimal disruption.
The building has now been completed and has become a more efficient facility for the Lincolnshire Co-op to let to any tenants wanting to facilitate their business.
